About the Reddit Pixel

The Reddit Pixel is a snippet of JavaScript code, but it’s a powerful little thing. Once you’ve placed it on your website, the pixel will allow you to track actions that visitors take after seeing or clicking your ad on Reddit. You can also pass additional signals to strengthen Reddit’s attribution matching.
Considerations before you install
Before you begin, you should be familiar with the Reddit Pixel requirements and product functionality:
We require event deduplication if you use the Reddit Pixel and Conversions API together.
Your use of the Reddit Pixel is subject to the same agreements in the Reddit Business Tool Terms.
Before you start
Create a Reddit Ads account. Set up your business on Reddit Ads or join your team’s account as an administrator. Don’t have an account? Here’s a great place to start.
Find your Reddit pixel ID. Specify which business account should receive your conversions. You can find your pixel ID in the Events Manager, and it should match the business account’s pixel ID found in Accounts.
Integrate the Reddit Pixel
Manual installation — Adding a Reddit Pixel manually on your website is a great way to share visitor conversion from your Reddit ads. We recommend this method if you want more customization and flexibility. This method requires some in-house developer resources to set up.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) — Set up the Reddit Pixel using client-side tagging with your GTM account. We recommend using GTM if you already use it to send user actions.
Shopify — Edit your site template or create a Shopify custom pixel to share conversion events with Reddit. We recommend choosing one of these methods if you already use Shopify for your site.
Supported partner integrations — Implement the Reddit Pixel using one of our trusted partners to simplify setup, avoid errors, and save development resources.
Send conversion events
Event setup tool (recommended) — Configure conversion events for your pixel—no extra coding required! We recommend this for quick and easy setup.
Manual installation — Add functions to your pixel base code to share events. This method requires some in-house developer resources to set up.
Set up tagging — Create a tag for all your conversion events in Google Tag Manager. This is recommended if you’ve installed the pixel with GTM.
Link Shopify standard events — Add  functions to your Shopify custom pixel. We recommend this method if you’ve set up the pixel with Shopify and want more customization and flexibility. This method requires some in-house developer resources to set up.

Verify your integration
Check that your events are being captured using the Pixel Helper and Events Manager. Trigger conversion events in real time to see the data your events are passing. Third-party cookies must be enabled in your browser settings for event testing.
Opt out users
We offer a Limited Data Use (LDU) flag to help you meet your compliance needs, including opting out users if they have not consented to behavioral targeting.
